This Privacy Policy explains how PrismVPN ("App", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you download, access, or use our mobile application and related services. Please read this policy carefully before using the App.

By installing or using PrismVPN, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the App.

1. Service Description

PrismVPN is an Android application that uses the system VpnService API to create a device-level VPN tunnel. When you connect, selected network traffic may be routed through configured proxy or VPN endpoints to help you manage your connection and access network resources through the route you choose.

You are responsible for using the App in compliance with applicable laws, the terms of service of any network or content provider you access, and our Terms of Use. PrismVPN is provided as a connectivity tool and does not encourage or support unlawful activity.

2. Information We Collect

Depending on how you use the App and which features are enabled, we may process the following categories of information:

• Device and app information — Such as device model, operating system version, app version, language settings, and general diagnostic information needed to operate and troubleshoot the App.
• Connection and session information — Such as connection status, selected server or node, session duration, and estimated upload/download traffic statistics. Much of this information is processed locally on your device to display in-app status and usage details.
• Network-related information — Such as network availability and connectivity state, used to establish, maintain, and recover VPN connections.
• Advertising-related information (if ads are enabled) — Such as the Android Advertising ID (where permitted by your device settings), ad interaction data, and related technical identifiers collected by third-party ad partners in accordance with their own privacy policies.
• Support communications — If you contact us by email, we receive the information you choose to provide (for example, your email address, message content, and any attachments).

3. Information We Do Not Intentionally Collect

We do not intentionally collect or store the content of your browsing activity, such as the full text of websites you visit or the contents of your communications, for the purpose of building a personal browsing profile.

Like most network services, technical metadata (for example, IP addresses, connection timestamps, or bandwidth usage) may be processed by us or our infrastructure providers as necessary to operate the service, maintain security, and prevent abuse. We limit such processing to what is reasonably needed for service operation.

4. Permissions We Request and Why

To provide core VPN functionality, the App may request or rely on the following permissions:

• INTERNET — Required for network communication while the VPN is active.
• ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE — Used to detect network availability and support connection behavior.
• ACCESS_WIFI_STATE / CHANGE_WIFI_STATE / CHANGE_NETWORK_STATE — Used to observe and adapt to network changes while the VPN is running.
• FOREGROUND_SERVICE — Required to run the VPN as a foreground service while you are connected.
• FOREGROUND_SERVICE_SPECIAL_USE — Required for the VPN foreground service type on supported Android versions.
• POST_NOTIFICATIONS (Android 13 and above) — Used to display the ongoing VPN status notification while connected.
• AD_ID (if advertising is enabled) — Used by advertising partners to deliver and measure ads, subject to your device settings and applicable law.
• READ/WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE (on older Android versions, where applicable) — Used only when needed for app-related file operations supported on those versions.
• VPN consent (VpnService.prepare) — Android requires your explicit approval before a VPN tunnel can be established. You may decline; the App cannot connect without this consent.

5. Foreground Notification

When the VPN is active, Android requires a persistent foreground notification. This notification may show connection state and estimated upload/download speeds. You can manage notification permissions in your device settings. Declining notification permission may affect how connection status is shown but does not by itself grant VPN access.

6. How We Use Information

We use information for the following purposes:

• To provide, operate, and maintain VPN connectivity and App features.
• To display connection status, session information, and traffic statistics on your device.
• To improve performance, reliability, and security of the App and service infrastructure.
• To respond to support requests and communicate with you about the App.
• To deliver and measure advertisements when the advertising feature is enabled.
• To comply with applicable legal obligations and enforce our terms and policies.

We do not sell your personal information.

7. Advertising and Third-Party Services

PrismVPN may display advertisements through third-party advertising partners, such as Google AdMob, when this feature is enabled in the App. These partners may collect and use information—including device identifiers, advertising IDs, and interaction data—in accordance with their own privacy policies and applicable consent requirements.

The App may also rely on third-party infrastructure providers to route connections. Those providers process data only as needed to deliver the connectivity service and are expected to apply appropriate security measures.

8. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell personal information. We may share limited information only when necessary, including with:

• VPN or proxy infrastructure providers used to establish and maintain your connection.
• Advertising partners when ads are displayed, subject to their privacy terms and your device settings.
• Service providers that help us operate, host, analyze, or secure the App.
• Law enforcement, regulators, or other parties when required by applicable law, legal process, or to protect rights, safety, and security.

9. Data Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information during transmission and processing. However, no method of transmission or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Data Retention

We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce our agreements, and maintain security. Session-related information shown in the App is primarily processed on your device. Any server-side retention is limited to what is needed for service operation, troubleshooting, and legal compliance.

11. International Data Transfers

Depending on the server or node you select and the location of our service providers, your information may be processed in countries other than your own. Those countries may have data protection laws that differ from the laws in your jurisdiction.

12. Your Choices and Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to:

• Access, correct, or delete certain personal information we hold about you.
• Restrict or object to certain processing activities.
• Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
• Lodge a complaint with a data protection authority, where applicable.

You can disconnect the VPN at any time within the App. You may also reset your advertising ID or adjust ad personalization settings through your device. To exercise privacy rights or submit a request, contact us using the details in Section 15.

13. Children's Privacy

PrismVPN is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction, such as 16 in certain regions). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to review and delete such information where required by law.

14. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, legal requirements, or App features. When we make material changes, we will post the updated policy in the App or through our official channels and revise the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of PrismVPN after the updated policy becomes effective constitutes your acknowledgment of the changes, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
